The streets are no place for a child. When children arrive at Hope, it is often in the back of a police car. They are alone and afraid. Most of them have never had a single possession of their own. A Hope welcome kit consists of a monogrammed towel, basic toiletries, and a stuffed animal. It becomes their prized possession and as something belongs to them, they gain a sense of belonging. You can help a child feel welcome.

Lord, when did we see you naked and clothe you?

Few sights can be more heart wrenching than a child in rags. In the poverty stricken areas of Brazil, it is common to see children running barefoot around sewage or wearing only a dirty t-shirt. What a contrast it is to see the well-dressed children at Hope. Your donation dresses a child in what may be the first set of decent clothes they have ever worn in their lives.

Street children in Brazil are, without exception, hungry and malnourished. They spend their days desperately seeking their next meal. The picture of a child scavenging through a garbage pile for scraps of food is absolutely heart-rending. Our kids are not only well-fed, but they also learn how to prepare nutritious meals in their own homes with their house parents. Your donation can feed a child for a week.

Broken lives need more than just physical restoration. Hearts and spirits need healing too. We introduce our students to the Father of Love. These are kids whose biological fathers abused or abandoned them. Hope’s discipleship program not only helps heal broken lives, but starts our kids down a path of spiritual growth and helps them understand the promise of eternity.
